Although this infrequently occurs, your skin may go through a detox phase in which toxins are flushed out and brought to your skin's surface. This may result in a few blemishes or redness, and usually occurs within the first few weeks of using Jakaré products. This is part of the natural process of restoring your skin to optimal health. To assist you during this time, we recommend consistent use of the Exfoliating Crème.
All of our products have a minimum shelf life of one year, and they do not require refrigeration or storage in a dark space. However, we recommend that they be kept out of direct sunlight.
Our products do not contain sunscreen protection. This would require additives and ingredients that are not 100% pure. We recommend that you apply sunscreen over Jakaré products when outdoors and then remove it when you are no longer outside.
Jakaré uses no synthetic fragrances. The scent of each Jakaré product varies according to the essential oils, herbs and other natural ingredients that it contains. Because of this, some products will have a richer scent than others. An important point about Jakaré products - we use only "active" ingredients. In other words, we do not add ingredients just to provide fragrance, color, density, etc. Every ingredient will benefit your skin.
Typically, our products work well for people with sensitive skin because we use no artificial preservatives, coloring or additives of any kind - only 100% pure ingredients.
Jakaré has many customers with rosacea or rosacea-type conditions who are effectively using Jakaré products. The high level of essential oils in Jakaré products nourish the skin, supporting optimum skin health. Because of its nutritive value, we recommend using Essential Nutrients™ as part of your daily program.

Generally, the source of vitamin C in many vitamin C serums is synthetic ascorbic acid that has been isolated from the complete vitamin C complex found in nature. This causes it to become highly unstable, thus losing its potency and effectiveness very quickly. In contrast, the Vitamin C Serum from Jakaré contains ascorbic acid formulated from natural sources, extracted from vegetables and fruits, as well as bioflavonoids and water-soluble proteins to comprise a complete vitamin C complex.

Because the skin around your eyes is very delicate, we recommend using a moisturizer specifically formulated for this fragile area. A facial moisturizer may be too rich, whereas the Energizing Eye Serum is a light, easily absorbed yet moisturizing treatment. It will firm and nourish the eye area - light enough to wear under eye makeup yet moisturizing enough for night-time use as well.
Exfoliating your skin removes dead and flaking skin cells from the top layer of your skin so that your pores are kept unclogged. Without exfoliating, dead skin cells can clog your pores and prevent you from properly absorbing moisturizing and nourishing skin care products.
Yes. One of the most important aspects of a cleanser is maintaining your skin's natural pH balance without stripping away the natural oils that are necessary to keep your skin healthy and supple. When the Refreshing Cleanser is used in conjunction with products in the recommended face care program, balance is the key. No. Jakaré uses jojoba wax beads as the exfoliating ingredient. These are spherical in nature and thus do not have sharp or harsh edges, yet they are very effective for removing dead skin cells.

Lotions typically contain high levels of water, alcohols and emulsifying waxes in order to create their lotion-type consistency. These ingredients are inexpensive and contain very little nutrition for the skin. Also, the emulsifying waxes prevent the lotion from being absorbed on a cellular level. Body Nutrients™, on the other hand, is a concentrated nutritious serum which penetrates easily and deeply to repair the skin, and performs as a highly effective age defense treatment. Both the Replenishing Body Oil and the Body Nutrients™ are excellent products for moisturizing after the bath or shower. The Replenishing Body Oil provides a rich, luxurious feel to your skin and stimulates new cell regeneration. The Body Nutrients™ is a concentrated serum that feeds and nourishes the skin, and is packed full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. When using the Replenishing Body Oil, your skin should be fairly moist so that the body oil mixes with the water on your skin. Then allow a few minutes to absorb. In contrast, the Body Nutrients™ is absorbed immediately and does not need to be applied to moist or wet skin. Commonly, our customers will use both at the same time, pumping a little of each into the hand and smoothing on the skin. In that case, absorption is immediate.
